MELON WITH STRAWBERRIES

½ honeydew melon (about 3 pounds)

3 tablespoons sugar, or more as needed

¼ cup dry red wine

1 (12-ounce) basket small strawberries, hulled

Cut melon into 1-inch dice; you will need about 6 cups. In a large bowl, mix sugar with wine and 2 tablespoons water. Add melon and strawberries. Mix gently; taste and add more sugar if needed. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Serve in dessert bowls.

Makes 4 servings.
